We believe in the importance of affirming and sharing God's love

through worship, fellowship, and serving our neighbors.

There is much that we do inside the church walls that serves God and the people of God, but there is also so much more that we do that reaches beyond our walls into the community, across the state, and around the world as your gifts multiply and spread many times over by the power of the Holy Spirit to assist those in need.

Each year our church is fortunate enough to distribute approximately 20% of all donations received to go towards a myriad of organizations locally and internationally doing God's work in the world, and that's in large part because your gifts give us the stable footing to grow and reach out into the world to let those gifts multiply. Above and beyond this are all the generous gifts of share time and talent in addition to the items donated to our efforts to support the food bank, homeless shelter, and Lutheran World Relief.

We know that giving is a very personal matter, so we ask that you consider these scriptures as you thoughtfully consider what giving means to you and your family. Your generosity is a true gift from God.

Of course we know that giving comes from a place of passion, and there are many different opportunities to support.

- Donations to our General Fund help us to continue to grow our ministries in worship, faith formation, education, relationship development, and giving back to support those in need right here in Missoula. As we give thanks for each and every dollar received, 10% of contributions are tithed back to the Montana Synod and ELCA who distribute them to: grow and support the church here at home and around the world (developing faith resources, supporting new or struggling congregations), supporting and developing future leaders (assisting ELCA seminaries and colleges, orchestrating national and regional youth gatherings, supporting campus ministries and international opportunities for Young Adults in Global Mission), working for justice issues (engaging in social, political, and environmental discourse), and continuing to build relationships with other communities of faith.

- Donations to our Capital Fund help solidify our commitment to the future and well-being of Missoula. These contributions allow us to continue to use our building as a center for action to allow local nonprofits and organizations to collaborate and serve the Missoula community.

- Donations to our Endowment Fund enhance the work of the church by going above and beyond the support of the general operations budget to assist in improving church facilities, establishing new ministries, and supporting stewardship opportunities. Learn more about our Endowment Fund and the ministries it's supported in the past.

- There are a number of other organizations and projects you can contribute to through a gift to St. Paul, such as our solar project, local emergency assistance, youth camp scholarships, the prayer shawls ministry, the Faith and Climate action project by Emmaus Campus Ministry, the ELCA World Hunger project, Lutheran World Relief, Freedom in Christ Prison Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, Family Promise, and many more.

Give by Envelope

Each Sunday we pass the collection plate in which you may place your cash or check. If you'd like to have your cash gifts on a contribution statement mailed at the end of the year, please use an envelope. No need to have an envelope for a check, though, as we can track your gift from the check itself, and it's friendlier to the Earth, too.

Above and beyond cash gifts are those of assets, securities, and time:

  • Stocks & bonds, dividends
  • Wills/bequests
  • Life insurance policies
  • Real estate and vehicles
  • Endowed gifts/scholarships

  • Sharing your time and talent serving in our ministries and community outreach events
  • Donations of goods or services

Imagine the Possibilities

Imagine the possibilities to grow into the future, better equipped to serve and care for our community.

While the construction may be over,

we continue to invest in our facilities.

Donate to our Capital Fund to help us solidify our commitment to the future.
