The Mission Endowment Fund was created to receive and administer gifts and bequests to St. Paul Lutheran Church to enhance the work of the church by improving worship facilities and establishing new or supporting existing ministries and stewardship opportunities above and beyond those possible within the general operation of the congregation.
Generous bequests from three families or estates have been responsible for the vast majority of our fund's principal, though many members choose to give to the Endowment Fund through one-time gifts or IRA investments. Endowment contributions are, in turn, invested in a number of investment accounts whose dividends fund a myriad of ministries that are annually recommended by the Endowment Committee and approved by the Church Council and congregation. The guidelines direct at least 20% to community and Synod outreach, at least 20% to ELCA continent or worldwide ministries, and at least 20% to St. Paul capital needs or debt reduction. A total of $327,260 has been disbursed between 2005 and 2015, including $49,000 to Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp, $25,500 to Emmaus Campus Ministry, $16,680 to ELCA's World Hunger Campaign, and $13,300 to Lutheran Social Services of Montana.

Endowed Gifts come in all shapes, types, and sizes! You can make a gift to the Endowment Fund through a cash gift in addition to securities, annuities or trusts, real estate, life insurance, and bequests and memorials.
